Prayer Kit — Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information the Prayer Kit app ("Prayer Kit", "the app", "we") collects, how it is used, and the choices available to you. Prayer Kit is designed to be a focused, lightweight prayer times companion and collects as little data as possible to provide its features.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Location data

Prayer Kit uses Apple's Core Location framework to determine your approximate location. Location is used solely to:

• Calculate accurate daily prayer times for Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha.
• Identify your city or region for display in the app, widgets, and Apple Watch.
• Schedule local notifications at the correct times for your location.

Your precise coordinates remain on your device. They are stored locally and shared between the iPhone app, Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets, and the Apple Watch app using Apple's secure on-device mechanisms (App Groups and WatchConnectivity). Location data is not transmitted to any server controlled by us.

1.2 Notifications

Prayer Kit schedules local notifications on your device for upcoming prayers. These notifications are generated and delivered entirely on your device by iOS and do not require an internet connection at the time of delivery.

The app also supports push notifications delivered via the OneSignal service (see Section 2). Push notifications are used to refresh the prayer notification schedule in the background and to deliver occasional reminders. You can disable notifications at any time in the iOS Settings app.

1.3 Information we do not collect

• We do not require you to create an account or provide a name, email, phone number, or any other personal information to use the app.
• We do not collect contacts, calendar data, photos, microphone audio, camera images, or health data.
• We do not display advertisements and do not use advertising identifiers (IDFA).
• We do not track you across other apps or websites.
• We do not sell, rent, or otherwise share your personal information with data brokers.

2. Third-Party Services

2.1 OneSignal (push notifications)

Prayer Kit uses the OneSignal SDK to deliver push notifications. When the app is launched, the OneSignal SDK automatically collects and sends the following information to OneSignal's servers in order to register your device for notifications:

• A randomly generated OneSignal subscription identifier (used by OneSignal to address push messages to your device).
• Your Apple Push Notification service (APNs) token.
• Device metadata: device model, iOS version, app version, language, time zone, and country code.
• IP address (used by OneSignal to derive approximate geographic region; not stored long-term in identifiable form).

OneSignal does not receive your precise location or any prayer times. We do not upload contacts, names, or email addresses to OneSignal. Use of OneSignal is governed by OneSignal's own privacy policy, available at https://onesignal.com/privacy_policy.

If you disable push notifications for Prayer Kit in iOS Settings, OneSignal will no longer be able to deliver push messages to your device.

2.2 Apple platform services

Prayer Kit relies on standard Apple platform services, including Core Location, UserNotifications, WidgetKit, and WatchConnectivity. Use of these services is governed by Apple's privacy policies and controlled by your iOS Settings.

3. How We Use Information

The information described above is used only to:

• Calculate and display prayer times relevant to your location.
• Synchronize prayer times and your selected settings between the iPhone app, widgets, and Apple Watch.
• Schedule and deliver prayer notifications at the correct times.

We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or any other secondary purpose.

4. Data Retention

Location, prayer time, and settings data are stored on your device and persist until you delete the app or clear its data through iOS Settings. Information collected by OneSignal is retained according to OneSignal's data retention practices, described in their privacy policy linked above.

5. Your Choices and Controls

• Location: You can grant, restrict, or revoke location access at any time via iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Prayer Kit. If location access is denied, Prayer Kit will not be able to calculate accurate prayer times.
• Notifications: You can disable notifications via iOS Settings → Notifications → Prayer Kit.
• Deleting your data: Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data. To opt out of OneSignal push registration, disable notifications for Prayer Kit in iOS Settings before launching the app again.

6. Children's Privacy

Prayer Kit is not directed to children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

7. Security

Information stored on your device is protected by iOS's standard security model, including file encryption when the device is locked. Data transmitted by the OneSignal SDK is sent over secure HTTPS connections.

8. International Users

Prayer Kit is available worldwide. By using the app, you acknowledge that information processed by OneSignal may be transferred to and processed in countries other than the one in which you reside, in accordance with OneSignal's privacy policy.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Effective date" at the top of this page will always indicate the latest revision. Material changes will be reflected in an updated effective date and, where appropriate, communicated through the app.
